Norway left-back John Arne Riise was hurt during a training behind closed doors at the Ullevaal Stadium in Oslo. The Roma defender injured himself in a collision with teammate Espen Ruud and remained dazed on the ground for several minutes, according to Norwegian daily Verdans Gang.
Berit Riise and Maria Elvegård, Riise's mother and wife respectively, visited the footballer at the Ullevål University Hospital on Monday afternoon.
John and Maria married on 21 June 2010 in a private ceremony in New York. On 4 August 2009, Maria gave birth to the couple's first child, Emma.
Riise already had a daughter from his previous marriage to Norwegian model, Guri Havnevik.
